My e-mail to Arby’s
The following is a message I sent to one of the contact people for Arby’s (and other organizations; s/Arby’s/$organization/) as part of a massive campaign to get sponsors of Sinclair Broadcasting to pull advertisements in response to Sinclair’s plans to air an anti-Kerry propaganda “documentary” called Stolen Honor:
To whom it may concern,
Arby’s has never struck me as the type of organization to promote the blatant slander of war veterans. While it seems to have become popular as of late for certain parties to mock those who have earned purple hearts by drawing them on Band-Aids, adhering them and giggling, I know that there are many who disagree with John Kerry but have the respect not to make fun of his status as a volunteer veteran. These attacks target not only the presidential candidate, but all veterans who have served in a war. It is a disgusting, apparently desperate approach taken by a broadcasting company with an obvious bias.
Please pull your television advertisements from Sinclair. Please choose not to disgrace your company via association with a broadcasting company that has no respect for veterans, especially those who have been wounded in service. The perception of your company by many people depends on your decision in this matter.
Thank you for your time,
J Crowley
