Edit: Spinn has a great sum-up as well. “It happened because we’ve lost the war on terror. If a whole city can be plunged into chaos because of some silliness, then the terror has already won.” Seriously, if people were feeling, immediately after 9/11, that it would be conceding to the terrorists if they didn’t carry on with their regular or planned activities, then what the fuck do you call this?

Also, if you were going to plant a bomb, would you really make it have bright lights and put it in a visible location?
